Graduation is Finally Within Sight!

Whether you are an undergraduate considering going on to graduate school, or an undergraduate or graduate student headed off to work — if you are going to graduate within the next two semesters, you've come to the right place.

Activate Your RedHawk JobLink Account with the CDC

If you haven't already activated your RedHawk JobLink account, with the Career Development Center and you plan to participate in on-campus recruiting, you'll need to update your Online Profile on RedHawk JobLink.

Once you have viewed the JobLink Orientation Training PowerPoint online and we have received your annual $5.00 registration fee ~ your registration the CDC will be complete for the academic year. We'll permit you access to JobLink within 48 business hours. You will then be able to review job postings for on-campus recruiting and also request & schedule interviews.

Did you know that the CDC annually hosts over 600 employing organizations during on campus recruiting? Or that the CDC forwards literally hundreds of students' resumes each year to interested employers? The CDC Staff is here to help you with your job search!

If you're planning to look for a job, begin by updating your resume. Be sure it highlights your relevant experience and your education. Attend a Resume Writing workshop or check out the Resume Writing Tip Sheet if needed. Or, simply stop by the CDC during regularly scheduled Walk-in Hours and have a counselor critique your resume before you begin your job search.

Interviews are held on campus each year during the fall and spring semesters. Check out Deadlines and Due Dates early and often to make sure you give yourself plenty of time to participate and so you don't miss anything!

Get prepared for upcoming interviews by attending an Interviewing Techniques workshop or check out the Interviewing Tip Sheet. Want to practice your interviewing skills? Schedule a Mock Interview with a career counselor early in the semseter.

Attend a Cover Letter Writing workshop or read the Writing a Winning Cover Letter Tip Sheet to help you create this all-important marketing tool.

Network with and learn about employers during the many different types of Employer Presentations offered each semester.

Check out the thousands of jobs posted annually on JobLink by employers seeking to hire Rensselaer students and alumni. There, you can can source job openings by geographic region, industry or career field.
